For 10-20-30 I chose my sister, brother in law, and mother. Since my family is Dominican the type of music most listened to during they’re time is Bachata, merengue, and salsa. Merengue and Bachata originated in Dominican Republic and most Bachata songs are romantic, sadness, and heart broken while Merengue songs are based on happiness. Salsa originated in Cuba love and party. My sister is 10 years older than me and she chose the song “Pelo Suelto” by Gloria Trevi. Gloria Trevi is a Mexican pop rock singer and brought this song out in 1986. My Brother who is 30 years older than me chose the song “La Hamaquita” from Angelito Villalona. My mother chose the song “Vuelve” By an un-remembered author. My mother said that the reason she like that song is because the songs from back then have meaning. They spoke of life and the meaning of keeping it happy. While on the other hand you have all the Latin songs of today speak of love, being heart broken, and sex. My sister believes the same as my sister but she prefers today’s music because the 80s music had no rhythm it didn’t have a catchy beat like todays music.
